Dr Vanessa Tee is a Consultant Physician in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine. She completed her Respiratory training at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital followed by a fellowship in Sleep Medicine at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. She is multi-lingual and can consult in English, Mandarin, Hokkien and Cantonese.

She has a wide variety of interests, which include:

Respiratory Medicine

• Interventional pulmonology

  • Radial EBUS for lung nodule

  • Linear EBUS for lymph node biopsy, mediastinal staging

  • Pleural procedure – pleural fluid aspiration, chest drain insertion

  • Interstitial lung disease - transbronchial cryobiopsy

  • Lung volume reduction with endobronchial valves for severe emphysema

  • Cryo-resection of intraluminal tumour/granulation tissue

  • Balloon dilatation

  • Indwelling pleural catheter insertion

  • Removal of foreign body

• Lung cancer including lung cancer screening

• Pleural disease including pleural effussion, pleural thickening/lesion for investigation

• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

• Asthma

• Interstitial lung disease

• Bronchiectasis

 

Sleep Medicine

• Sleep apnoea – obstructive sleep apnoea, central sleep apnoea

• Nocturnal hypoventilation syndrome - neuromuscular disorder, obesity hypoventilation syndrome

• Insomnia

• Narcolepsy and hypersomnolence syndrome

• Restless leg syndrome, periodic limb movement disorder

• Parasomnia – REM behaviour disorder

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Surgery (MBBS), University of Adelaide 2008 

• Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), 2017

• Member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, The European Respiratory Society, and the Australasian Sleep Association
